<Entry Nineteen, Tir Na Nog Ready Room>

To: Captain Lazu Lukita
Subject: <no subject>

Lazu, I'm sure you're probably a little annoyed with me, but the decision to come out here wasn't one I slept on. Looking at Matt, I realized I could never look any of my companions in the eye again. I had to get away, I had to leave everyone I fought alongside because I can't stand with them anymore. But you, I can't leave you, I won't. So, attached, please find the replicator pattern for a key. A "friend" of mine set me up with an offsite residence and I could only think of two people I'd want to have a key to it and one of them isn't allowed to leave starbase without an escort.

If you want to yell at me, I'm home around 1900 local time most evenings. I hope I will see you soon.

Love,
Fe

<Entry Twenty, New Romulus>

Seuna stood in the field she had been working in and wiped her brow with her arm. All around her were crops she had spent time and energy cultivating, and her effort had been rewarded. She smiled in satisfaction as she studied the field.

"It really does look like you have a knack for this," The farm's Overseer, a Romulan whose name she had trouble pronouncing, stated.

"It's not about having a knack for it or not," Seuna replied, "I studied my butt off, I took the time to learn how to do this."

"Well it looks like you got it one way or the other," The Overseer shrugged, "Heard you chased off a couple lost Hatham that had wandered too close to the city."

"Group effort," She knelt and tore out a weed, "I'm more interested in keeping pests out of the field."

"Oh that's no trouble, the stronger plants will survive."

"I'd rather they all survive."

"Me too!" A young voice shouted before a weight struck Seuna from behind and nearly knocked her to the ground. Only years of training and a perfect posture despite numerous injuries kept her on her feet.

"C-Collage?!" Seuna sputtered as she glanced over her shoulder at the grinning Bajoran girl.

"The One, the Only!" The little girl cheered herself.

"What are you doing here?!" She turned and set the girl on the ground, struggling to hide her joy at seeing her daughter.

"Well it turns out," Collage paused for what she thought was dramatic effect, "please contain your amazement, that I am smarter than Seraphina and can change deployment rosters to suit my needs."

"I feel like I should not be party to this," The Overseer stated before walking away to busy himself with some farm equipment that was still within earshot.

"Collage Hart," Seuna crossed her arms, "You were forbidden from using your abilities."

"Yea, but then Talvius came to visit and I started thinking." Collage grinned.

"You don't ever stop thinking, you even talk in your sleep." Seuna sighed.

"Well I thought, If Talvius is allowed to go wherever she wants, why can't I?" Collage ignored Seuna's statement for a moment before adding, "And if you paid attention you could learn to be amazeballs too."

"Amazeballs?"

"I read it somewhere, now, what can I do to help?!" Collage was practically vibrating with excitement at this point.

"Just... I dunno, go back to the staging area and fix computers while I call someone to come get you," Seuna sighed heavily and pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Dude, no." Collage stamped her foot, "You are not abandoning me again just because your feelings got hurt. You don't do well on your own, and I happen to know that Mazu is going to be AFK for a while."

"AFK?"

"Away From Keyboard, you're so lame mom."

"I wasn't once upon a time, then I was given a daughter." Seuna finally broke down and hugged the psuedo-teenager.

"You missed me," Collage hugged her back, "Just admit it."

"Never."

"You know you have a message from Mazu?" Collage asked as she lay on her back, her head hanging off Seuna's bed as she picked at the PaDD she was holding.

"I'm aware, stay out of my personal messages," Seuna growled as she tinkered with one of the smaller drones that normally flit about Tir Na Nog on their own little missions.

"Why don't you answer? I thought relationships were all that mushy crap."

"Don't say crap, and relationships can be whatever you make of them. I haven't replied because I don't have a lot to say at the moment."

"Why not?" Collage rolled over on to her stomach, "Are you mad?"

"No, I'm just not embroiled in excitement and adventure like I used to be, life is calmer now, but it also lends to a little monotony."

"So you're bored."

"Not necessarily."

"That's what you say when you're trying not to say yes." Collage looked proud of herself for figuring one of her mother's evasive quirks out, "You are, you came here to pout and now you're done pouting and you're bored."

"I did not come here to pout."

"Why did you come here then?"

"I..." Seuna hesitated, the tool in her hand slipped and took a sizable chunk of her palm with it, "Hssss Son of a Targ-licking Nausicaan stripper!"

"Ohhh I have to remember that one!"

"Get me the bandages," Seuna growled, "and for the love of God quit prying into every detail of my life!"

"It's my life too," Collage hopped off the bed and retrieved the emergency kit from Seuna's bug-out bag, "I mean, I'm just over two, I do everything with you, so I want you to be happy so I can be happy."

"Sweetie, mommy has issues," Seuna set about to dressing and wrapping her hand, "I promise you, you make me happy, but you should learn to respect privacy."

"Ten doesn't."

"We're not going there." Seuna bit off the end of the bandage and tucked it away, "Ten does what is necessary for her, you peeping in my messages is not necessary."

"Pff, Alpha used to peep on Beta in the-"

"We're not going there either!"Seuna pounced on her daughter and covered her mouth with her uninjured hand. "Come on sprog, lets go get something to eat."

Commander F. Seuna Hart studied the diagram before her. She studied it until her vision grew blurry. It was important, it could affect a lot of people in the next few weeks.

"So what are we looking at?" Collage Hart asked, peering over the edge of Seuna's desk.

" Agricultural field layouts," Seuna replied, "If we don't maximize production we can't guarantee food for everyone."

"So they can just eat Eppohs, the little rat horses are everywhere."

"In that case just eat Darwin for dinner,"Seuna replied with a sigh. The little Voth raptor chirped sleepily at the sound of his name, then lay his head back down on Seuna's bed and went back to sleep.

"No I love Darwin!" Collage shouted.

"And the Romulans love their Eppohs," Seuna replied, making her point.

"Fine I get your point," Collage huffed.

"Good," Seuna stood and stretched, causing her back to pop along her spine. It wasn't quite enough to satisfy her though, she stretched several more times before finally giving up.

"I'm bored." Collage stated as she too stood up.

"Well if you had stayed on the Starbase you could have a job and be useful."

"And probably have gotten into a fight with Seraphina," Collage retorted, "Snippy machine got all uppity when I accessed people's files."

"Only room for one snippy machine around you, huh?"

"EXACTLY!.... HEY!"

"Tell you what pipsqueak, do me a favor and I'll owe you one."

"Hmm," Collage studied Seuna's face, "What's the favor?"

"Find out where Lazu is and what she's been up to. I missed her on Risa and until I can get this stupid computer issue under control."

"Computer issue?"

"Yea, some kind of bug in long range comms, they won't send, only receive."

"Dude, it is totally a jealous starship keeping you from talking to people."

"Whatever," Seuna rolled her eyes, "Just do your thing and I will get you some candy or something."

"So much deal!" Collage was gone before Seuna could add anything further, causing the woman to shake her head and plop down on the bed next to Darwin. The little raptor grumbled and nuzzled against her, burying his snout in her armpit.

"It's not the same when you cuddle, but I appreciate the effort," Seuna sighed, scratching the little raptor behind his jaw. Above her, the light dimmed of its own accord, casting long shadows across the room.

<Entry Twenty-Three, Tir Na Nog, "Workshop">

"Computer, some Vivaldi if you will. You know the one." Commander Seuna Hart stated calmly as she entered the room she had dubbed her Workshop. Strewn about the room were several tables covered in stripped weapon and equipment, half-constructed drones, and even the heating unit for a pre-fab hut.

In the center of the room sat a table with her most recent project, a very large, very heavy beam cannon. Along the barrel she had painted the words "Thou shalt not" in dark red paint.

"Computer, summon Chi for me," Seuna stated as she split the housing of the cannon and began to work on the flow regulator for the weapon's energy output.

The on-again off-again teenage Section 31 agent took less than two minutes to respond to the summons, but Seuna ignored her when she entered in favor of swapping out the cooling unit of her cannon for one cannibalized from one of Tir Na Nog's defense drones.

"You know, I have chores to do. If you want to be watched the ship does that." Xi stated with a half-hearted grumble.

"Oh sweetie, you and I know you aren't going to do your chores," Seuna replied, hefting the weapon, "You and I also know that the crates I trusted Erik with were EM shielded."

"Oh come on, that turned out fine!" Xi turned defense too quickly, outing herself.

"You weren't supposed to have a key, how did you open the crates?"

"I took the key from the stupid Cardassians." Xi huffed, "I was just trying to scare Erik! He's so uptight!"

"Erik is a good man," Seuna charged the weapon, "You could have gotten people killed. You endangered free citizens."

"Oh my God! Who. The Hell. Cares! No one got hurt and I thought it was pretty damn funny!" Xi replied.

"Chi, if I have to clean up after you again I will test this weapon on you, understand?"

"It's pronounce Xi," Chi retorted, crossing her arms for only an instant before a cannon blast flew past her face.

"Hmm, get out. The targeting array needs calibration." Seuna stated, placing the weapon on her work table.

"You actually shot at me! What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Seuna merely glanced back at Xi, affixing an icy death stare on the girl that sent a fatalistic chill streaking up her spine. Xi retreated without another word, determined to never play another dangerous prank again.

"That wasn't very nice," A voice stated.

"I will make it up to her," Seuna replied before beginning work on her cannon.

"Miss Hart don't mistake my intentions, I am eternally grateful for your assistance," Some faceless diplomat spouted as Seuna polished off a daquiri.

"COMMANDER." Seuna replied sternly.

"P-pardon?"

"COMMANDER Hart, I work for a living," Seuna grumbled, affixing the diplomat with a stare one my give bland paint as it dried.

"My apologies, Commander," The Romulan placed emphasis on her rank with a slight smirk that was supposed to be charming but in reality just annoyed her.

"It is fine," She sighed, mentally swearing at Minako for having a more important meeting to attend instead of a diplomatic function, "I'm glad you appreciate the Federation's continued support. We're a unique and varied alliance with a multitude of unique individuals who could support you if you require any further assistance."

"I much prefer your unique input," The Romulan placed a hand on her bare knee, "And I'm certain I could give you some input of my own that might aid you in your own endeavors."

Before Seuna had an opportunity to break the Romulan's hand, in such a way that would leave him left-handed for the remainder of his life no matter the medical technology available to him, a massive hand landed on the diplomat's shoulder and another, much larger Romulan made his presence known.

"Ambassador, your behavior is highly inappropriate." Tal Shiar Remnant Admiral Hiven Rajan growled as he squeezed the diplomat's shoulder, "Remove your hand from the Commander before I allow her to remove it for you."

"M-my apologies," The diplomat squeaked, "I-if you'll ex-excuse me I think I s-see a colleague."

"I don't need rescuing Admiral," Seuna stated sharply, "Especially not from you."

"Who said I was rescuing you?" Hiven laughed, "Despite what you believe of me I do not delight in harm coming to my fellow Romulans."

"Unless you do it yourself by nearly starting an incident with a well-meaning Federation Fleet," Seuna openly glared now.

"I had orders, and I had hope that my people would see themselves as better-off without you."

"How'd that work out for you?" Seuna quipped.

"Very well," Hiven Rajan replied, "I managed to gain the attention and support of an anarchic old rival."

"S'anra is hardly anarchic." Seuna replied.

"0 for 2, Commander. It's not a surprise you are a failing officer," Hiven Rajan nodded across the hall to an older man dressed in a very neat suit, tie, and matching fedora."

"Gabriel," Seuna spat, "Why are you two here?"

"To rescue you," Hiven laughed. "Diplomats are horrible people after all. Finish your drink, your diversion is about to start."

Seuna sighed and slammed down the last of her drink a moment before Gabriel Richards stood and adjusted his clothing. Taking a hit from his own flask, Gabriel reached into his jacket and produced a hockey puck-esque device. He inhaled sharply, then slid the device into the middle of the room where it ignited in a flash of light. A woman screamed for a brief second before a holographic DJ constructed itself from the ground up. Gabriel walked to the center of the room confidently and nodded to the DJ.

Music began and Gabriel was soon dancing like a young man in an old man's body. Seuna was forced to repress a laugh as all eyes focused on the old man. Using the advantage, she slipped out of the hall, with Hiven Rajan close behind.

"So what now?" Seuna rounded on Hiven when they were free of the function's guards and alone in the night air.

"Nothing yet, but something will always come up that requires someone like you." Hiven replied, "Do me a favor though?"

"One harmless favor. That's all I offer," Seuna replied, suddenly on her guard.

"I request you give this to Rori, Gabriel requests you give it to Ten. Your choice," Hiven chuckled before grabbing her dress and pulling her into a rough, forceful kiss that made her insides equal parts ignited and queasy. He released her after a quick moment and walked away into the night, whistling cheerfully to himself as he disappeared.

Gabriel Richards was tired, that was a constant anymore. Between his less than amicable split with Section 31, oganyrunning interference to pick up discarded assets, and building his own agency he was exhausted. Then, out of the blue, his niece had called him and asked for a favor.

He entered his office and hung his coat near the door, loosening his tie with a sigh.

"How'd it go?" Someone asked from behind him. They got the drop on him, but he barely even twitched an eyebrow as he turned. Seuna Hart was sitting in his chair with her old dirty boots up on his desk.

"What is it with you and other people's desks?" Gabriel asked, crossing the room slowly and pushing her feet off his desk, "This is mahogany."

"It's very nice," She rolled her eyes, "How did the meeting go?"

"You were right, its a trap." Gabriel walked to a cabinet to Seuna's right and took out a snifter of bronze liquid, "The Empire goon wanted to limit the number of ships and personnel allowed to visit the planet. My bet would be on a grab, probably planetside."

"Chi got aboard safely?"

"Of course she did, I doubt even S'anra would be able to pick her out of a crowd. She's been practicing." Gabriel poured them both a drink.

"As long as she remains in a crowd, Chi's mischievous side is what worries me." Seuna stood and offered him his own chair, which he accepted with a weary groan.

"It should worry the Tal Shiar, she was loaded to bear in that bag." Gabriel passed her a glass, then took a sip from his own, "She seems a lot more focused, was that your doing?"

"Only partially, she struck up this weird friendship slash rivalry with Collage, then when I endorsed her for the Delta mission that got scrapped she actually started studying seriously," Seuna sipped her drink, "This is juice, why is this juice?"

"Because you tend to strike officers when you drink," Gabriel replied, "Plus its good for headaches."

"So, what's the bad news?"

"I don't honestly have any, I felt taxed just trying to mock S'anra," Gabriel sipped again, "Getting old I think."

"Sixty Seven right?" Seuna smirked, "Compared to a Vulcan you're just a big baby."

"Tch, I've always been a big baby. You should have seen the tears when I cut my arm off," To emphasize this he removed his false right arm. Seuna moved to his side slowly, killing her drink before leaning over the old man and kissing his head.

"Get some rest, you don't look as smug as usual." She turned and walked out of his office, leaving him alone.

Gabriel typed a code into his Padd, causing a secret compartment to pop open on his desk and reveal a holoemitter. He tapped a button on the small device, causing an image of all the children he had trained to rise into being. A young Seuna stood between twin Vulcans, grinning and flashing a peace sign.

"Sentiment is a dangerous thing." A voice stated, an Orion slipped out of the shadows.

"Mmm, less dangerous than a weary old man." He jerked a pistol from its hiding place on his false arm and dove for the floor.

Seuna sat watching Bomerath through a view port as Collage lay with her head in Seuna's lap, breathing deeply as she slept.

"You have a message from Erik," Gabriel Richards stated as he walked up behind her and sat in a chair perpendicular to her couch.

"Its irritating enough when Collage does that, don't you start," Seuna grumbled.

"I did it without inserting my consciousness into a starship that may or may not have a mind of its own." Gabriel retorted, obviously proud of himself.

"Why are you on the aforementioned starship instead of your own gaudy pink think?"

"I'm a sentimental old man who wants to spend time with the little family I've got left," Gabriel replied, choking back a cough, "Speaking of family, did K'Tira arrive safely?"

"Yea she made it. She's planetside finishing up the medical release of the last few Bomerathi."

"Good, good," Gabriel relaxed in his chair.

"Is this your retirement, small talk with someone you've nearly gotten killed a few dozen times?"

"It might be." Gabriel shrugged, "You ought to go see Erik, it'd be good for you both."

"Since when do you care what's good for Erik? You used him as a distraction while you stole data the Trust had."

"You have to care about an asset, otherwise they get caught. Pawns die, knights win."

Seuna shook her head with a sigh. She liked the idea of Erik as a knight instead of someone's pawn, but she didn't like that Section 31 had used him.

"I'll head to Sol soon." She said simply, "Can I trust you to watch after the Bomerathi AND Collage?"

"The Bomerathi, yes. Collage... she's a big girl," Gabriel shrugged, "I have more faith in her watching after me than visa versa."

"Just try not to antagonize anyone while I'm gone," Seuna stood, scooping the young Bajoran up in her arms.

"I make no promises," Gabriel replied, failing to suppress another cough.

"And get that cough looked at." Seuna stated before carrying Collage off to bed.

"I make no promises," Gabriel replied to no one in particular as he turned to look at Bomerath.
